Bending and forming give sheet metal parts their final shape. Bend radii, flange lengths, and materials affect how a component can be manufactured and therefore need to be considered during the design phase. Forming requirements are taken into account from the outset when designing enclosures, cladding components, and sheet metal parts.
Not every component can be formed in the same way. Material, sheet thickness, and geometry determine the appropriate process. This results in components designed to meet the requirements of both their intended application and series production.
