The “Memory of our Time” is stored in customised Zambelli shelving systems in the Schau Depot of the Ruhr Museum in Essen and presented to all history buffs. A special project in every respect – for us as well – which has now been immortalised with a detailed article in the special 2021 edition of arcguide – the pre-eminent source of information for architects, planners and designers.
The priorities are placed firmly on concept and design – especially in our bespoke shelving systems that made the exhibition possible in the first place: 25,000 valuable exhibits are displayed in stationary and movable shelves, hanging on wall grids or nestling in drawers. The individual objects are not explained by signs, but in the form of guided tours by experts.
An innovative process was used to adapt the special edition of the Zambelli Maxithek precisely to the special spatial and historical conditions of the Ruhr Museum, creating a harmonious unity between the former industrial building and the numerous natural and knowledge artefacts on display.
By completing this project, we are creating a special setting for exhibition pieces and the long-term use of the former salt factory as a show space. Besides that, we are also demonstrating how individually our special solutions can be tailored to customer requirements.
