Our RIB-ROOF metal roofing systems minimise thermal bridges, ensuring compliance with the Building Energy Efficiency Act (GEG) without costly additional measures. The requirements for thermal insulation had already risen significantly with the introduction of the Energy Efficiency Ordinance (EnEV), which was replaced by the GEG. Therefore, we have revisited the topic of thermal bridging effects with the roof build-ups that we recommend.
FIW Forschungsinstitut für Wärmeschutz e.V. Munich recently conducted a study on the thermal bridge effect of various fastemomgs for light metal roofs by means of two- and three-dimensional numerical simulations. The findings confirm that our RIB-ROOF metal roofing systems exhibit optimum U-values for all common insulation thicknesses. This not only means that a RIB-ROOF roof saves on heating costs, but it also makes a significant and sustainable contribution to environmental protection.
According to the FIW study report (calculation with DIN EN ISO 6946, values in each case with thermal insulation 180 mm and WLG 035) you can save annual energy costs by using spacer constructions with optimised U-values.

The maximum load-bearing width of the walkable area differs depending on the material, support and substructure.
We would be happy to assist you in determining project-related clip distances (or span limits). The pull-out values for your selected fastener must be checked for the specific substructure. Just contact us!
The values according to DIN EN 1991-1-4 are taken into account for both the calculation of wind loads and the verification of clamped connections.
